How To Go Naturally Grey?

Posted on by Anouschka in Ask The Experts

Aletta Crofton asked:

What is the best way to go naturally grey after having touched up roots for years with light brown?

Expert, Candice Donadel, from Mirrors Hair Lab answered:

The best way to go grey gradually is to start hilighting with blond and using the base shade you have been using as a tint in the past as a lowlite. That way when your grey grows out, it will be your second “hilight”. This means you will no longer tint, you will have 3 multidimensional hilights.

Depending on how dark or light your grey is, will determine whether to do only blond hilights (light to white grey) or use your old base as a second colour (darker grey).

Your other option is to have a really short cut and grow it out naturally.
