Morgan Taylor – Cinderella Collection

Posted on by Anouschka in Latest News, Product Reviews, Reviews | Leave a comment

I’m a huge Morgan Taylor fan, so you can imagine my excitement when I was sent a pre-launch press pack of 3 gorgeous new shades from their Limited Cinderella 2015 Edition.   I wasn’t home when it was delivered, but my son told me that “Prince Charming came, dressed in a wedding suit, and brought you something!”   The presentation with glass slipper was truly impressive.   Collaborating with and drawing inspiration from Walt Disney Pictures’ live-action film Cinderella, the collection includes six NEW shades:   Party at the Palace (iridescent teal) My Carriage Awaits (coral creme) Watch Your Step, Sister! (hot pink creme) If the Slipper Fits (light blue glitter) Ella of a Girl (light pink creme) Best Ball Gown Ever (iridescent periwinkle)   I received Watch Your Step, Sister! (hot pink creme), If the Slipper Fits (light blue glitter) and Ella of a Girl (light pink creme).  Read More

Ready to try some yummy new hair care products?   HASK has a collection of hair care products featuring exotic oils, like Argan (Repairing frizzy hair), Macadamia (Moisturising dry hair), Keratin (Smoothing weak hair) and Monoi (Nourishing dull hair).   Not only are these oils all super amazing for your hair, these products are all free of sulfates, parabens, drying alcohols, phthalates, gluten and articifical colours. How awesome is that?!   I got to try their Macadamia Oil range, which is moisturising for dry hair. Macadamia nuts are one of my favourites, and the essential fatty acids are not only good for your body, but also for your hair.   The rich, ultra hydrating oils are perfect to help keep your hair soft, supple and shiny.   I can honestly say that my hair is loving this product. Get Summer Ready With Africology

Posted on by Anouschka in Beauty & Body, Product Reviews, Reviews | 2 Comments

I was asked to take part in the Africology Renew and Revive this Summer Blogger Campaign, where we received an Africology Deluxe Hamper to review.    The hamper consists of the Africology Cellulite Detox Body Oil and the Africology Slimming Detox Cream.    As soon as the sun starts to make an appearance we all seem to come out of hiding (well at least the Capetonians seem to hibernate) and it’s time to get Summer ready.   Even though we should try to maintain our beauty routines all year round, it’s much easier when we’re not dressed in several layers of clothing, so now’s the time to put in that little bit of extra effort. To start you off, I’ve shared my Top 10 ‘Get Summer Ready’ Tips:   1. Water, water, water!!! Water is your best friend for so many reasons. It’s great for all your organs, especially your skin (your largest organ),Read More

If you ever worried about what you’re putting on you skin, or hate the sticky feeling and smell that one usually associates with self tan, then look no further, I’ve just discovered one that is totally organic, has absolutely not smell or stickiness. Want to know what it is?   It’s called TanOrganic, and it’s Eco-certified, meaning it has been certified by one of the most stringent processes in the market, whereby the entire production chain is checked, from the raw materials to the finished product. Certified by PETA, The Organic Trust, The Ethical Company Organisation and Approved by Irish Eczema Society to name a few.   I received the Tan Trilogy Try-Me Kit R499, which is a limited special offer to get started! Each Try-Me Kit contains: 1 x 30ml TanOrganic Original, 1 x 30ml Oil Arganic, 1 x Tan Erase, 1 x Tanning Glove.   So here’s whyRead More

Bon Acure

Posted on by Anouschka in Product Reviews, Reviews | 1 Comment

As I couldn’t attend the launch of the Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure Hairtherapy, I was sent a few products to try at home.   I was sent the following products to try: Repair Rescue Deep Nourishing Shampoo Repair Rescue Conditioner Repair Rescue Deep Nourishing Treamtent Moisture Kick Beauty Balm Volume Boost Perfect Foam Time Restore Q10 Rejuvenating Serum I tried the shampoo and conditioner first. I keep using too much shampoo, so a little goes a long way with this shampoo. It’s really foamy and makes your hair feel squeaky clean. You know how your hair feels when you’ve just been to the salon? Well now you have that same effect at home. The conditioner is surprisingly not as creamy as you would expect but works a charm. I did tend to want to add more, as it doesn’t feel rich and creamy, but when I combed it out with my TangleRead More

Retail Box Spoils

Posted on by Anouschka in Product Reviews, Reviews | Leave a comment

I while back I received a R500 voucher to spend on anything I wanted from the Retail  Box website. Super excited, I spent quite a lot of time surfing the site, checking it all out and seeing what they had on offer. They specialise in hair care products but also have tools & accessories and make-up products as well.  I want slightly over budget and spoilt myself with the following products:    1.  Ceramic Vented Radial Brush Size 1 (25mm barrel) – R50 – On Sale Best for… The small barrel of the size 1 brush is perfect for creating root lift in shorter styles and blow-drying fringes or shorter layers. This ceramic -barrelled brush retains its heat to allow for a faster blow-dry.   To use… Blast hair until it’s 80% dry. Working with small sections, place the brush into the root area and direct the heat from your dryer at theRead More

Bio-Sculpture Gel Manicure

Bio Sculpture Colours

I’ve just had the most gorgeous Bio-Sculpture Gel manicure at Samantics and I’m obsessed.   Sam used Coco Frost on my nails and Bronze Bitch (oh how I love that name!) on my accent finger. Coco Frost has a slight sheen to it and Bronze Bitch has the most gorgeous gold bronze glitter in it – which she mixed up herself – just wow!   You’ve probably heard of gel manicures by now and there are several brands out there right now.  Sam chose to use Bio- Sculpture for several reasons: 1. It’s a gel system and not just a gel polish 2. It’s a hard wearing yet flexible gel 3. They come out with new colours every quarter 4. You can fill in any dents in the nail to create a perfectly smooth nail 5. She can create her own colours with this system!     Do yourself aRead More

Konjac Puff Sponge

Posted on by Anouschka in Product Reviews, Reviews | 1 Comment

It’s not often that I receive totally different and innovative products to review, and when Infinity Skincare offered me the Konjac Sponge to try out, well, I could not resist!     The sponge basically makes your daily cleansing routine a lot simpler and more efficient. The amazing thing is that you don’t need a cleanser with it because the 100 % natural vegetable fibres of this nifty little sponge do all the work!   Made from the root of the Konjac plant (a naturally moisture-rich, edible plant) the sponge is very alkaline which means it won’t upset the delicate PH balance of your skin. The sponge has a net-like structure, which gently massages the skin and stimulates the blood flow, refining the pores and encouraging the growth of new skin cells.   Well, by day 3 of using my sponge, my skin was glowing, clear and also very soft becauseRead More

Magic Flowerpot Princess Pink Tangle Teezer

I recently discovered this awesome site  called Retail Box. It’s the online store for all Tosca Hair Salons, bringing you everything you need for your hair.   I received this super package the other day which had  this gorgeous ‘Magic Flowerpot Princess’ Tangle Teezer. I’ve already got the larger version that I use in the shower, so this was a very welcome addition. I absolutely love the Tangle Teezer – one of my all time ‘Best Buys’.     I also received a very generous R500 voucher to spend in their online store, and now I get to browse through their amazing selection of professional hair brands, like Brazilian Blowout, Kerastase, Morgan Taylor, Paul Mitchell, Veaudry, to name but a few. More to follow on that later…..   They also stock a few make-up and nail products as well as Xen Tan (which we’re definitely going to need now thatRead More

Essence Pampering

Posted on by Anouschka in Product Reviews, Reviews | 2 Comments

I just had a little surprise in the post and unpacked some little treasures from one of my favourite brands – Essence.   They’re always coming out with new ranges and colours and fun things to try. Luckily their prices are also very ‘user friendly’ 😉 so it is actually possible to play around and try them out.   I received their pro white glow nail polish (R27.95), which is a nail whitener with an anti-yellow formulation. This is definitely worth a try, as I always feel very un-chic when my darker nail polishes leave my nails with that horrible yellow tint.   It’s a pink-transparent nail polish which enhances the natural color of your nails, and visibly lightens the tips for a gorgeous, pampered and glossy look.     I also received their 6in1 nail candies in ‘oh lolli lollipop’ (R27.95), which is a really soft creamy pink.  The sixRead More
