Essence & Catrice Review

Posted on by Anouschka in Product Reviews, Reviews

Cosmetix sent me some wonderful Essence and Catrice products for review this month which I’d love to share with you.

Cosmetix represents a number of leading international brands in South Africa, including Essence – Germany’s biggest selling make-up range – which was launched in South Africa in April 2009, with unprecedented success.

Essence Colour & Go

Essence Colour & Go
(107 Naughty and Pink)

The first product I tried, was the Essence Colour & Go (107 Naughty and Pink), which is a quick drying nail polish. This polish is quite thin so you will need to apply a few layers to get a good coverage but it does dry exceptionally fast, so if it’s speed you’re after then this is one to go for.

I loved the colour on my toes and it’s lasted a little under a week.

Available at Dischem for R19.95

Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss

022 Nude Kiss lipgloss

Next I tried the 022 Nude Kiss lipgloss. This is a perfect colour for me as I like pinks on my lips but not too bright. It has a lovely shimmer to it and is moisturising without being sticky. With frequent application, you’ll have soft, shiny lips all day.

 Available at Dischem for R24.95

Catrice Cosmetics – Ulti Mate Nudes

Catrice Cosmetics range
(090 Karl Says Tres Chic)

I also received this nail polish from their Catrice Cosmetics range (090 Karl Says Tres Chic).

The first thing I loved is that they do not carry out or commission any testing on animals for the manufacture of any of their products. This applies to the end products as well as to all ingredients.

This product is a little bit thicker than the Essence Colour & Go so has more coverage with 2 coats. It lasted about 5 days on my hands before I started to notice some chipping.

Both have a wide, flat brush which makes applying the nail polish easy and fast.

This is an elegant colour that would work well for work or formal functions.

Available at Dischem for R34.95

Catrice Cosmetics – Evolution to Revolution black volume mascara

This is truly something new and unique, and I was definitely intrigued by this  “one brush, with two separate brush-stripping systems”.

Look 1: the slim brush-stripper offers classic lash volume for every day as it picks up less texture while the larger brush-stripper (Look 2) captures more texture for ultra volume and glamour.

One mascara with 2 brushes – Love it! And for only R59.95 (available at Dischem) this is true value for money.

I hope you’ve liked discovering these new products with me. They are all available at Dischem and none of them will break the bank, whilst also delivering  a really good product.
