When Your Hair Needs Some Super Pampering

Posted on by Anouschka in Product Reviews, Reviews

Winter seems to be the time for launching new hair care products as I received three different brands to test and review.

As I thought it might be of interest to my readers, I wanted to do a comparison of all three for this blog post.

The three product ranges are as follows:

1. Terenzo – Liquid Hiar – Terenzo Hairdressing Haircare Range
2. Wella Professionals – Elements
3. Label.m – Brightening Blonde Shampoo

The Terenzo Liquid Hair is a range for stressed and damaged hair which instantly repairs, nourishes and strengthens. The key ingredients are Hydrolysed Collagen and Q10, Silk Amino Acid, MEA 18, 6 Oils and Pantheon.

Retail price:  Shampoo R310, Conditioner R295

I was seriously impressed by how nourishing this conditioner was and yet how light my hair felt afterwards. There’s nothing like a good salon shampoo and the Terenzo Professional Haircare range worked wonders for my fine hair.

Available from selected salons in Cape Town and Johannesburg, including Terenzo salons.

Wella Elements

The following week I tried the Wella Elements Range.

Retail Price : Shampoo R207, Conditioner R243, Mask R252, Conditioning Leave-In Spray R252

I was sent the mask, shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioning spray to test. I decided to go full blast and used all 4 products and my hair and WOW did my hair feel gorgeously smooth, shiny and super soft.

Add the fact that it has no parabens and free of sulphates and artificial colourants, this is definitely a favourite of mine right now.

Oh and it smells heavenly too – infused with several natural fragrances, I keep thinking of grapefruit and passion fruit when I use it.

Available from Retail Box: www.retailbox.co.za

Lastly I tried the Label.m Brighting Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner.

Retail Price : Shampoo R240 and Conditioner R260

These products gradually lightens and brightens while gently cleansing and nourishing, using natural extracts like white pineapple, mamaki tea and lemon to lighten without drying out hair.

Available from Splush

Facebook: Label.m South Africa

While using all three products I realised that the first two are specifically created to nourish the hair, while the Label.m is all about brightening blonde hair, so it wasn’t fair to compare this one to the others. I will also need to use this product for a while to see results, so I will save it for after my next highlight session and then do a proper review on it.

What I did notice though was that the other two products definitely did do what they promised and I had much healthier softer, more manageable hair whilst using them.

So to compare:

Packaging: I really enjoy the tube packaging of both the Kerenzo and Wella products as water does not get into the tube at all. Both are equal winners in this, even though the Wella has a prettier print design.

Price: Wella is more cost effective

Effectiveness: Both made my hair feel amazingly nourished soft and shiny. Terenzo did impress with how light my hair felt afterwards. The Conditioning Leave-In Spray from Wella seems to be my ‘go-to’ product though as it just adds that extra bit of awesomeness.

Smell: Although both smell great, the Wella Elements products win hands down in the fragrance department.

Overall Winner: Both Terenzo and Wella have produced wonderful ranges that has restored my dry hair with some much needed nourishment. With loads of products to test and review, I often find that I only truly know which product I prefer when I subconsciously reach for the same product day after day. I find that I use both equally as they both deliver on what they promise. Based on smell I prefer Wella, and the the fact that it is paraben and sulphate free also gets two thumbs up. Finally, the Wella Conditioning Leave-In Spray is my new ‘must-have’ product.

Feel free to comment below if you’ve tried any of these, or tell us what your all time favourite product it.
