Konjac Puff Sponge

Posted on by Anouschka in Product Reviews, Reviews

It’s not often that I receive totally different and innovative products to review, and when Infinity Skincare offered me the Konjac Sponge to try out, well, I could not resist!

The sponge basically makes your daily cleansing routine a lot simpler and more efficient. The amazing thing is that you don’t need a cleanser with it because the 100 % natural vegetable fibres of this nifty little sponge do all the work!

Made from the root of the Konjac plant (a naturally moisture-rich, edible plant) the sponge is very alkaline which means it won’t upset the delicate PH balance of your skin. The sponge has a net-like structure, which gently massages the skin and stimulates the blood flow, refining the pores and encouraging the growth of new skin cells.

Well, by day 3 of using my sponge, my skin was glowing, clear and also very soft because of the natural exfoliation that the sponge provides. Amazingly, it seems to create it’s own friction as you rub it onto the skin. After a week or so, I began to use some of my cleanser on my face and then using the sponge to for a deeper cleanse—but I needed much less of my usual cleanser.

I was concerned at first because my skin is so sensitive but am pleased to report that the sponge is very gentle and best of all, it’s a gift from nature without any dangerous ingredients like parabens and other chemicals and additives. You can also use the sponge on your body.

As long as you follow the instructions for looking after your sponge, it should last from between 1-3 months at least after which you need to change it. And, if you like, you can simply put it in your garden to decompose as it’s totally biodegradable! I also think it is fantastic for men, such as my husband who don’t want a complicated skin routine but something quick and easy.

As I have dry skin, Leoni from Infinity Skincare sent me the sponge with nourishing mineral –rich French red clay however you can choose from: Pure Natural Konjac for all skin types; French green clay for combination skin; French pink clay for damaged skin; Bamboo Charcoal for teenage skin and the Baby sponge.
