Fresh Summer Look For Over 40’s

Finished Summer Look

Just because I’m over 40 doesn’t mean that I don’t still covet that fresh faced Summer look.   Most days I tend to just whip on some BB cream, add a bit of blusher and a touch of mascara and I’m good to go. However, with more pigmentation and fine lines and wrinkles, I do need to work a bit harder to achieve a natural look, when I want more coverage as well.   Yip, natural does not necessarily mean less, just the right products in the right colour, applied properly.   I was recently sent a few gorgeous new products from Essence and thought I’d share my fresh Summer look using some of these, and other favourites on my shelf.   I’ve just started using the AA Meso Lazer Wrinkle Decreasing Day Cream for 40+ and even though I preferred the texture of the Sensitive Skin day cream at first,Read More

Essence Nail Polish Review

Blue

Essence Colour & Go has just released 7 new colours for Spring for us to play with.   What I’ve always loved about Essence Colour & Go is: * The fast drying time. * It also has a great shaped flat brush which makes application even easier & you end up with a much neater finish. * There are no damaging ingredients such as formaldehyde, toluene and softening phthalates. * The size! At only 8ml, you might just actually get to finish a bottle of nail polish and it keeps the cost down to only  R19.95.   I received 2 colours to try (orange & blue) and at first I thought that I wasn’t that keen to try them out, as I felt that they were too bright for me. BUT once I did, I had loads of fun with it & really enjoyed them both.   In  total there areRead More

Impressed With Essence BB Cream

bb cream

I first heard about BB creams last year and had to find our more about this little ‘all-in-one’ Beauty Balm. What is a BB cream? BB cream stands for “Beauty Balm” or “Blemish Balm”. As an all-in-one facial cosmetic product, it is promoted as a replacement for serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock. Pretty awesome – right?!    What does it do? “It will give you a good base for makeup like a primer, even out complexion like a tinted moisturiser, cover minor imperfections and redness like a concealer, hydrate your skin like your day cream, brighten and perk-up a dull complexion and some will even protect with SPF. Some also promise healing, soothing and anti-ageing properties.“  SOURCE     Essence all -in-one BB cream I just received the Essence all-in-one BB cream to review and I am suitably impressed.       It comes in three shades: 01 in Universal, 02Read More

Essence & Catrice Review

Look 2

Cosmetix sent me some wonderful Essence and Catrice products for review this month which I’d love to share with you.   Cosmetix represents a number of leading international brands in South Africa, including Essence – Germany’s biggest selling make-up range – which was launched in South Africa in April 2009, with unprecedented success. Essence Colour & Go   The first product I tried, was the Essence Colour & Go (107 Naughty and Pink), which is a quick drying nail polish. This polish is quite thin so you will need to apply a few layers to get a good coverage but it does dry exceptionally fast, so if it’s speed you’re after then this is one to go for. I loved the colour on my toes and it’s lasted a little under a week. Available at Dischem for R19.95     Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss     Next I tried the 022 NudeRead More

I want to quickly share with you, what I got in the November RubyBox.   Due to the truck strikes, I received my beauty box quite late this month and I had read a few grumbles on the Rubybox Facebook page as this must have affected quite a few deliveries.   However, I have been so busy that I honestly had not even noticed how fast time had flown by and was pleasantly surprised when the courier rang my doorbell.   If you don’t know what you can expect to receive every month from your Rubybox subscription, then stick around and I’ll show you exactly what November’s box contained.     Click here if you want to subscribe to Rubybox: http://pampermenow.co.za/join-rubybox    What’s in the box?   1) R100 5Rooms coupon – haven’t shopped there yet – so keen to check it out.     2) R20 off Piz BuinRead More
