TheraVine Product Review

Posted on by Anouschka in Product Reviews, Reviews

TheraVine South Africa sent me some products to review, and as I had recently received some TheraVine products at the Fresh Wellness launch, I thought I would include these in this review as well.

Quick background info on TheraVine for those of you that might not know. TheraVine is a South African vine-derived face & body treatment range. It combines the latest technology with Grapeseed by-products and essential oils & botanicals all from the Western Cape.

Being a Proudly South African & Western Cape girl, and not to forget my fondness for a good ‘glassie’, this sounded like a match made in heaven.

Let me take you through some of the products that I’ve been lucky enough to try:

TheraVine Antic-Bac Sebuvine Serum – R305

“A quick absorbing, light textured serum treatment that destroys bacteria, regulates oil production to prevent break outs and helps clear existing blemishes”.

I love the smell and the packaging.  It comes in an awesome pump action bottle so you get just the right amount with a couple of pumps. At first it feels almost oily but once you’ve applied it to your face, it is very quickly absorbed and just leaves a lovely fresh natural smell. I can’t say if it will prevent break outs – I’ll have to use it a bit longer and will get back to you, but it does seem to dry out existing pimples. Definitely one to add to the beauty routine.

[Contra-indications: Shellfish and iodine allergies – due to Himanthalia elongata extract (brown algae)]

TheraVine Ultimate Eye Make-up Remover – R215

“Ultra fine oils formulated to delicately help remove stubborn eye make-up whilst moisturising the eyelids”.

One of my favourites as it easily removes my waterproof mascara. I really like that it comes in a spray bottle. Just two or three spritzes onto some cotton wool, then gently rub away your eye make-up. It combines water-soluble grape see extract which refreshes and soothes the skin and oil-soluble natural tocopherol which removes make-up and stubborn mascara quickly & easily, without leaving a greasy residue. Gotta have!

TheraVine Super Hydrating Day Cream

“A silky textured day cream which moisturises the skin leaving it feeling soft and smooth”.

As it says, this is a super hydrating day cream and feels really soft and silky on application. As I have acne prone skin, which is dehydrated but not dry, it is a bit too intense for me, but I would recommend this for people with dry skin for its hydrating properties. Lovely soft natural fragrance.

Theravine Grapeseed Body Exfoliator

“A gentle cream with refining and exfoliating crushed Pinotage grapeseeds used to lift impurities and dead surface skin cells”.

I like that it’s made of crushed pinotage grape seeds with essential oils like chamomile, marjoram and eucalyptus, but as it is a gentle cream exfoliator, it just didn’t give me the desired exfoliation that my skin needed after Winter. If you are looking for something gentle to use regularly then this one is for you.

HydraVine Chardonnay Grape Mask

“A super-hydrating, revolutionary cloth mask, pre-moistened with anti-oxidant Chardonnay grape extract, botanical rich concentrates and Hyaluronic Acid which intensely moisturises and ‘locks in’ active ingredients for up to 3 weeks leaving your skin soothed, desensitised and hydrated”.

This was fun to try, and I even got a good giggle from my hubby and son when wearing my mask. You apply the pre-moistened mask to your face for 15 min and then massage in the excess lotion. Even though I felt and looked kinda funny with this mask on, it was very hydrating and made my skin feel super soft. I even noticed that a couple of pimples had totally dried out the next morning – bonus!

Loved it!

HydraVine Rich Bath Milk

“A luxuriously, creamy rich bath and body milk for dry skin types, which leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth”.

I took this along with me on holiday recently and used it in the super large bath we had in our luxury tent. The smell reminds me of baby powder and I thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in this rich bath milk and inhaling its wonderful aroma. Would definitely recommend this.
